Exterior Color

Friday, October 28th, 2005

I know it’s early, but we’ve already had to pick our exterior color because it has to be submitted to the HOA with the initial plans.

If you must know, Dover Gray, by Revere Building Products, Amherst collection. You can follow the link to see their color swatch, although it doesn’t look quite as good as the piece of vinyl siding we have with that color :)

UPDATE: Looks like the link will only take you to the vinyl siding page; you can then select Amherst from the drop down list.

Here are some pictures of the lot being cleared with the basement dug and house marked out. Note: You can click on the image for a larger version of the picture.

Location, Location, Location

So, here’s a basic layout of the neighborhoods around the lake. We are near the end of the cul-de-sac street pointed to by the white line. There is an empty lot next door and then a house directly on the lake next to that. Supposedly, we will have “winter views” of the lake (e.g. when the leaves are off, you might be able to see some water through those trees!)

The Lot

Friday, October 14th, 2005

Here are a few pictures of the lot we will build on. Of course, the lots are heavily wooded so it’s hard to get a good feel for how the lot looks. It is a wider frontage lot (100 feet) that narrows towards the back, but is very long on the sides (over 250 feet). The house will be set back 45 feet or so off the street. The back of the lot will remain wooded and slopes down into a creekbed that runs into the lake about 100 feet further “right” of the lot. Note: you can click on the image to get a larger version
