First floor framed!

Wednesday, December 21st, 2005

On Dec. 21st, we received pictures that showed a one day transformation from a flat foundation to a house that was beginning to take shape! Here are a couple..

A picture from the street.

Looking out the “front door” towards the street.

From the far back yard you can see the lake through the trees (this is the right rear corner of the lot).

Looking back up through the back yard to the rear of the house.

Looking across the back of the house.

(Yes–I’m going back in time; I’m dating these entries when the pictures actually arrived. I didn’t have time over the holidays to put them up but I want them to show up in sequence properly..)

So, back on Dec. 19th the first floor was decked and the pre-fab wall sections were delivered..here are some pictures.

Here’s a shot of the first floor all decked with plywood.

The basement has a “roof” on it now–here’s a shot looking towards the back of the basement where the window and walkout/doors will be.

The stack of pre-fabbed frame sections are ready to go up.

A view across the garage and decking to the far side where the hole is cutout for the stairs going down to the basement.

Lot graded; ready to pour floors

Thursday, December 8th, 2005

While I’m a little late in getting these pictures up ( I just got news that they poured concrete yesterday after being delayed by snow on Tuesday ), its starting to look quite a bit different with the lot all graded out and a large back yard starting to take form! I guess I’ll keep my big commercial mower–was thinking maybe we would leave most of the back wooded, but our builder said we should have a nice yard for the kids to play in and that he would take out all the scrub/underbrush. Well, he definitely did it would appear :)

Pictures are from Saturday, Dec. 3

Looking over at our place from the neighbor’s–garage first then the house.

From the back corner–you can see the window at the back of the basement as well as the opening where the doors will go.

Rough plumbing complete in basement; ready to pour floor.

And the big backyard that looks huge all of a sudden!

Looking from the front basically right up the driveway.

Another view from the street, slightly from the left side of the lot.
